Houston Chapter Hosts First Valentine Dance
At
Fairview Community Center
Rain! Rain! More Rain did not stop the Houston Chapter of the Fairview Reunion Corporation from hosting its first Valentine Dance Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Community Center in Linden, Texas. Approximately, 80 people joined us between the down pours of rain to support our efforts to raise funds for the Center and the Houston Chapter projects.
Friends and supporters enjoyed an evening of dancing to oldies but goodies tunes and refreshments. During the evening, Thomas Northcutt and Flozell Stevenson were crowned King and Queen for the most tickets sold. Also, a dance contest was held, and first place went to Flozell Stevenson and Sam Epps; second place to Lue Berta Linwood and Ed Stubblefield; and third place to Lindell Harrison-Steens and Marvin Smith. Door prizes were given throughout the evening by the Houston Chapter.
Linda Sue Watkins and Bobbie Gail Allen served as co-chairs of this event and they worked untiringly to make it a success. Rayford V. Stephens is Houston Chapter President.
Special thanks are extended to Barbara Adams of the Atlanta Radio Station, Cass County Sun, Russell Wright, Director of LEDC, and Texarkana Gazette for support of our Valentine Dance fund raiser. Your support was essential to the success of this activity benefiting the Houston Chapter and Corporation.
